About Stewart Island
Stewart Island is the third island, across Foveaux Strait from Bluff, and it is eighty-five percent national park. About five hundred people live on the island, most of them at Oban. It is one of a handful of certified Dark Sky Sanctuaries on earth, and one of the few places where you can reliably see a kiwi in the wild.
