What is outbid.nz?
A public board of paid website listings on a map of New Zealand: the 16 regions plus Stewart Island. The highest bid on a place is the site name drawn on the map, with that site’s icon.
How much does a listing cost?
An open place costs $1, the minimum bid. A held place costs more than its current top bid — you name the bid, so the price is whatever beats the leader. Bids are whole New Zealand dollars, $1 to $999,999, and nothing is added at checkout.
What does a bid buy?
A ranked listing: your website on that place’s public board, ordered by bid. The #1 listing is the name drawn on the map itself. It is an advertising position — not the land, not a trademark, and not a rank that survives a higher bid.
Are the listings advertisements?
Yes. Every name on the board paid for its placement, and the board says so next to the links.
What happens when I am outbid?
You stay on the public list below the new leader, and you are not refunded. The address you paid with gets one email saying what it costs to take the top back — that is the only email the site sends.
How do I pay?
By card through Stripe Checkout, in New Zealand dollars. There is no account and nothing added at checkout. A listing appears once payment is confirmed.
Can I raise my bid or change my listing?
Yes. Reuse the same URL or @handle and you pay only the difference between the old bid and the new one. The one-liner changes only when the raise is paid from the same email; leave it blank and the current line stays.
What can’t I list?
No chat links (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord), no porn, and no URL shorteners — use the real address. Query strings are stripped. A listing that breaks the rules or the law may be removed, and removal is not a refund.
